The YHG Plan
The YHG Plan is our first new corporate plan under the leadership of our Chief Executive Officer, Jacque Allen, and Board Chair, Mike Gaskell, as well as a new, reinvigorated leadership team.
It will take us from 2024-2027 and focuses on four 'whats' and five 'hows' to ensure we can fulfil our vision, and provide safe, affordable homes in comfortable environments, with services that meet the needs and expectations of all our residents and stakeholders.

A brief history of Your Housing Group
Your Housing Group (YHG) was formed back in 2012 following the merger of two other social housing associations, Harvest and Arena.
They too had several smaller companies sitting within their framework, but this collaboration brought together two financially strong organisations covering Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Merseyside and Yorkshire. It made YHG one of the country’s largest social housing associations, now sitting at over 29,000 properties.
Arena & Harvest
Pre-merger, Arena, formally Liver Housing Association, had 14,000c. homes across the North-West and Yorkshire. It provided general homes, homes for those aged 55+, and supported housing such as Foyers for young people and those struggling with homelessness.
Harvest, on the other hand, owned 18,000c. mainly general homes and retirement living for those aged 55+. It was also part of the Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs) for Grove Village in Ardwick, Manchester, and Cheshire retirement living developments in Cheshire under the Avantage name.
Arena and Harvest were already the parent companies to several smaller housing associations and when YHG was formed, it resulted in a very intricate business.
Business streamlining
In 2016, the organisation began simplifying in order to provide a clearer legal business and make it more accessible for residents. This also ensured the same ethos was shared across the board with services equal.
This was completed on 31 July 2017.
Your Housing Limited (YHL) was formed – the legal name of the arm of YHG that owns our homes.
