We recently celebrated the completion of work to improve the energy efficiency of homes at Highclere Crescent in Liverpool.
The upgrades were funded through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF), a UK Government programme that helps social housing providers make older homes warmer, greener, and more affordable to run.
This project was delivered in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA), who secured the funding, and Regen, who carried out the installation work.
Highclere Crescent is an over‑55s community made up of 41 bungalows. As part of this phase, 37 homes have now been fitted with solar panels and received upgraded loft insulation. These improvements will make a real difference to residents, helping homes retain heat for longer and reducing energy bills through both better insulation and the renewable energy generated by the solar panels.
A huge thank you to our team, and to Regen and LCRCA for their continued partnership. Together, we’re helping more people have a safe place to home.
Our Director of Asset and Growth, Richard Jones said:
“We’re pleased to have delivered this programme in partnership with Regen and LCRCA. These improvements will help provide more people with a safe place to call home.
We are already planning the next phase to ensure more properties are energy efficient, helping to save residents money while improving our homes.”
Cllr Graham Morgan, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Cabinet Member for Housing, said:
"It is great to hear residents at Highclere Crescent speak so positively about the energy efficiency improvements they have received.
The Combined Authority is leading a consortium of 14 Social Housing Providers delivering similar work across the region to 3500 homes, having secured £31m from DESNZ’s (Department for Energy Security and Net Zero) Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.
This collaborative approach is all about sharing best practice, learning and experiences, helping to deliver better outcomes for our residents."
To mark the completion of the works, Regen hosted a small gathering for residents. It was a great opportunity for people to ask questions, share feedback, and talk about the positive changes they’ve already noticed in their homes.
It was wonderful to see residents, partners, and our teams come together and utilising the on-site community centre.
We look forward to delivering more important works to improve our homes for the better.
