Every year we come together and celebrate Chinese New Year with some of our residents.

This year we welcomed in the Year of the Snake hosted at Glamorous restaurant in Manchester, with over 130 of our residents, many of who'm first language is Cantonese.

Our residents who joined us all live across our homes in Manchester City Centre and yesterday got to enjoy traditional activities and performances such as Calligraphy and Tai Chi followed by an eight-course authentic meal.

The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and incredible aromas from the dishes served. It was a great afternoon to see residents and colleagues from #TeamYHG come together and have the chance to catch up as one community.

Michelle Clay, Housing and Customer Services Manager said "I felt an overwhelming sense of pride listening to all the heartfelt comments from our residents expressing their enjoyment of the day. It was truly rewarding to see everyone leaving with smiles on their faces."

The Year of the Snake brings with it wise and intuitive energy, symbolising wisdom and transformation, and offering opportunities for personal growth and change.

The 12 animals, are rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig.
