As part of our multi-million-pound home improvements programme, we have upgraded 27 bungalows on Washington Close in Biddulph, Staffordshire.
The upgrades, totalling £725k, included new windows and doors, installation of radiators and pipework, as well as adding loft and cavity wall insulation which will hopefully reduce customers’ utility bills. We also replaced rainwater goods, fascia, and soffits, and added kitchen and bathroom extractor fans.

''Continually investing in our homes is and will remain a priority so that we are able to reach and maintain a good standard of homes for all our residents. We are continually improving our knowledge of all our homes and their life cycle allowing us to invest accordingly and carry out required maintenance and upgrades. We care about our residents feeling safe and comfortable in their homes.''
The work is part of our on-going home improvements programme across our 29,000 homes in the Northwest, Staffordshire and Yorkshire.
Looking ahead to the next 12 months works are planned with more than 1,900 components due to be upgraded, including over 250 new kitchens and bathrooms, 500 homes receiving new windows and 650 new doors. This is in addition to the continued commitment to ensuring fire safety in all of our homes, with a further £20.5m due to be spent over the next 12 months.
We know how important it is to our residents that they have a safe place to call home. The upgrades will also reduce the risk of damp and mould, as well as improving energy efficiency and heating for residents.
