Tenancy Support Team

The Tenancy Support Team offer additional support and assistance when residents need it most. It’s free and confidential for all our residents, new and old, and gives support in areas such as : • The ins and outs of setting up a new tenancy including how to pay rent, manage utility bills and useful ways to find furniture and white goods • Additional benefits support • How to access specialist services such as mental health, drugs and alcohol, and family support

  • Been involved in 1,376 incidents where safeguarding action was taken by the appropriate service
  • Updated our own Safeguarding Policy

  • Donated essential items to Room at the Inn & Y Project for those facing homelessness
  • Managed 246 requests/referrals that came to us via our rough sleepers mailbox which ensured we could get out, and help those in difficulty across Warrington [email protected]
  • Over 260 gifts were donated to all young people in foyers and all families and children who were experiencing challenging times last Christmas – something we #TeamYHG does every single year.

As members of Resolve, whose mission is to help organisations like us to effectively deal with community safety and ASB issues, we regularly undergo training, update guidance and take time to listen to what you tell us needs to change. 

What have we done this last year?

  • ASB handling satisfaction is up 1% (62% to 63%) 
  • Working with a new mediation partner, ADR Mediation & Training, to help us better support you and try to resolve disputes quicker
  • Resolved 8% more ASB cases overall
  • Resolved 11% more ASB cases at the first intervention (such as a warning) 

We will also be delivering further training to all our ASB legal officers to ensure they can offer you a way to maintain a safe home and environment

5,147 Electrical checks 100% compliant
625 Asbestos checks 100% complete
294 Water systems risk-assessed 100% safe regarding legionella
129 Passenger lifts checked and serviced 100% complete
729 Fire risk assessments carried out 100% complete

Plus, a further 23,515 other checks, assessments, services and maintenance appointments throughout the year to ensure you stay building-safe.

Repairs Landing Lage

As part of our commitment to you to ensure you and your homes are safe, and the buildings within which your home may be, we are focusing on everything we must do, but also on what we feel is the right thing to do as an honest, reliable, and caring landlord.

High-Rise Safety Days

Over the last 12 months, we have spent a day at each of our 15 high-rise blocks of flats, over seven storeys, or 18 metres in height and home to 750 residents.

Throughout those days we have:

  • Taken building safety walks around the blocks
  • Held Q&A sessions to update and answer any questions
  • Carried out 446 repairs on-the-day
  • Booked 312 future repairs
  • Carried fire door inspections in all 26 of our 11 metre-plus high buildings
  • Written to every resident who lives in a block of flats/apartments to remind them of their building’s evacuation policy 
  • Started developing our Building Safety Case Reports.

Other notable safety offers for those in high-rise living:

  • Continued with our High-Rise Forums for all high-rise living residents
  • Ensured high-rise residents can easily request safety information about their home and building
  • Maintained the easy-reporting of safety concerns that go directly to the Building Safety Team


In 2023-24, we invested £23 million pounds into safety-related work.
